What does a crookie taste like?

Crookie

A crookie is the perfect fusion of a flaky, buttery croissant and a chewy, chocolate-filled cookie. The outer croissant layers are light and crispy, while the center is soft, gooey, and filled with chocolate chips. It’s a must-try pastry for anyone who loves the combination of these two iconic treats.

Ingredients

Crookie Dough

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour sifted
  • 1 cup Butter (unsalted) cold and cubed
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 tbsp Heavy Cream

Instructions

  • Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.

  • Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes to firm up the butter and allow the layers to form.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and shape them into balls or flatten into discs. Place on the baking sheet with space between each.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are soft. Cool on a wire rack.

Notes

For a twist, try adding caramel, dried fruit, or nuts to the filling. You can also experiment with dark or milk chocolate for different flavors.
