Equipment

  • Oven
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Double Boiler

Ingredients

  • 1 box Red Velvet Cake Mix
  • 2-3 tbsp Bourbon
  • 1/2 cup Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 1 cup White Chocolate melted
  • 1 cup Dark Chocolate melted
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the cake according to package instructions, baking in a greased pan.
  • Allow the baked cake to cool completely before crumbling it into fine pieces in a large bowl.
  • Mix the cake crumbs with the bourbon and cream cheese frosting until the mixture forms a dough-like consistency. Add more frosting if too dry.
  • Form the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • While the cake balls chill, melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. Stir until smooth.
  • Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted chocolate, coating it evenly. Place the coated cake balls back on the baking sheet to set.
  • Once the chocolate coating has hardened, serve and enjoy! Store in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

For a fun twist, try adding different liquors like rum or Irish cream for a unique flavor variation. You can also use dark or milk chocolate for the coating.
